Join us as we celebrate Fat Tuesday with drink specials, music, sweet treats and good times.
PLUS… you can show NOLA some love by donating to our book drive for A.P. Tureaud Elementary, a public school in New Orleans serving students in pre-K through 6th grade.
Here’s what LaToye Brown, teacher at A.P. Tureaud had to say about last year’s book drive:
“The book donations that we have received have been integral in establishing a culture of literacy here at the school. The students use the books in the mornings for independent reading before they are dismissed to classes, they use the books for recreational reading throughout the day, and some students have even borrowed the books to take home for extended reading opportunities. The children are developing a love of reading for reading’s sake and that love is helping to further their achievements within the classroom. Our teachers love the variety of books that have been donated. They have played a major part in expanding classroom libraries for the students. As you can see, the book donations have greatly affected us all and we truly appreciate it.”
Every single book added to the library and classrooms at A.P. Tureaud contributes to the culture of literacy Ms. Brown cites, and you can be a part of it. Please help us make a difference in the lives of these kids, one (or two, or ten) books at a time.

The books you pick out will be shipped to Maria’s parents’ home, in Louisiana, and bookplates bearing your name will be placed inside. The Falgousts will deliver the books to the school, and we’ll soon post snapshots of the kids and the books.
If you donate, print out a record from Amazon. Bring it to the party so that we can thank you with a drink special…
Thank you kindly for your help promoting literacy, and all the good things that come with it.
